- Resource for debt counseling. NFCC is not a Christian organization but it provides practical information and assistance.
- Founded by Ron Blue, provides services based on biblical principles of financial management, including comprehensive, fee-only financial and estate planning, investment analysis and management, strategies for charitable giving, as well as complete tax preparation and business services for individuals and organizations.
- Provides outstanding study materials (for all ages) on the biblical approach to stewardship and money management.
- Do not buy on clearance items (clothing) unless they have been marked down a minimum of 2 times (come back a week later).
- Shop for the next year while clothes are on sale for the present year.
- Thrift Stores, Trading Companies: Crossroads & Buffalo exchange.
- Make a list of things needed. Only get what is on the list. No extras.
- When you go to Costco, go with a friend and split some of the items that come in 2 or 3.
- Grow a small garden with produce that you usually buy.
- Trade things with friends when you are done, i.e. books, DVDs, shoes, etc.
- Use cash only. Use an envelope for each area..food, clothes, entertainment, etc.
- Rewards Cards (free) for stores you shop at a lot (ex: Staples, empty ink cartridges get up to $2 in rewards).
- Thrift Stores (have extra discounts on certain days).
- Call around for best prices/deals.
- Downtown LA- little hard to find parking, but good for shopping in bulk.
- LA Times Sunday Paper cost $9 for a year. Sunday paper has tons of coupons with hundreds of savings.
- You save a lot of money in the long run when you buy food in bulk. Buying in small quantities comes with a premium.
- We shop at dollar stores and buy food that is not expired but is selling at big discounts i.e. bread, yogurt.
- Credit Cards with cash back points.
- Pray God reveals the best price to you.
- Spend a little more for something that will last longer (savings in long term, but you don’t need the best).
- Outlets or direct to manufacture website.
- Consignment stores.
- Stores going out of business.
- Shop at least 3 stores.
- Ask sales associate for upcoming sales.
- Subscribe for coupons for individual stores.

- Carolyn Koons, a professor at Azusa Pacific University, participated in the short-term missions movement that started in the 1960s. In 1970, churches began asking Carolyn to take them to Mex-ico with her. She took five churches to Mexicali, Mexico, that first year, and “Mexicali Outreach” was born. From there, it has grown mostly by word of mouth. Each year thousands of participants cross the bor-der with APU’s Mexico Outreach to share the gospel of Jesus Christ
